Amazing DIY Hand Sanitizer Recipe, Make Your Own at Home

Hand sanitizer is an all time hygiene essential. With the outbreak of the new coronavirus, the demand for hand sanitizers has skyrocketed. People in some parts of the world even face acute shortages of the disinfectant. Even if you can easily grab one from the market, a DIY hand sanitizer is more economical and super easy to make at home, so, why not save tons?

Why make your own hand sanitizer?

Here are all the reasons to why make your own hand sanitizer instead of buying:

  • It’s extremely easy to make.
  • You control the quality.
  • You can customize it as per your liking.
  • And above all, far cheaper than buying.

Potency is vital

The sanitizer needs to be potent enough to work instantly. And the potency is measured by the amount of alcohol content in the mix. Center for Disease control recommends at least 60 percent alcohol for the sanitizer to be effective. But it’s better to keep it higher. Aim for at least 75 percent alcohol. And to achieve this, you need 99 percent isopropyl alcohol as your normal vodka and whisky are too wimpy.
