Make Nutella At Home

Certainly! Making homemade Nutella is a fun and delicious project. Here’s a simple recipe for you:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hazelnuts

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted coconut oil

Instructions:

  1. Roast Hazelnuts:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

    • Spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet in a single layer.

    • Roast them in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the skins start to crack.

  2. Remove Skins:

    • Once roasted, let the hazelnuts cool slightly.

    • Rub them in a kitchen towel to remove the skins. Don’t worry if there are a few bits of skin left.

  3. Grind Hazelnuts:

    • Place the roasted and peeled hazelnuts in a food processor or high-speed blender.

    • Process until you get a smooth hazelnut butter. This may take several minutes, and you may need to scrape down the sides.

  4. Add Ingredients:

    • Add the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt to the hazelnut butter.

  5. Blend:

    • Blend again until all the ingredients are well combined.

  6. Add Oil:

    • While the food processor is running, slowly stream in the vegetable oil or melted coconut oil until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

  7. Adjust Consistency:

    • If your homemade Nutella is too thick, you can add a bit more oil until you reach your desired consistency.

  8. Taste and Adjust:

    • Taste the Nutella and adjust the sweetness or cocoa flavor according to your preference by adding more sugar or cocoa if needed.

  9. Store:

    • Transfer the homemade Nutella to a jar or airtight container. It can be stored at room temperature for a week or two, or you can refrigerate it for a longer shelf life.

Enjoy your homemade Nutella on toast, pancakes, waffles, or use it as a delicious spread.
