Russia’s Khabib Rebuffs Saudi Offer of $100 Million, Advises to Spend On Needy

Russian mixed martial arts fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, has rejected a $100 million offer by Saudi Arabia, in return for fighting Irish Conor McGregor in the kingdom, local media reported yesterday.

You are willing to pay me $100 million to strike that idiot again, I do not think this offer makes any sense,” Khabib said addressing the Saudi authorities.

Being sarcastic about Riyadh’s offer, Nurmagomedov noted that the offered money was not “motivating him,” adding that he was not “interested in confronting McGregor in the current period.”

The Russian mixed martial arts fighter called on Saudi authorities “to give this massive amount of money to the needy people or spend it on charity initiatives.”

Ali Abdelaziz, Khabib’s manager confirmed the rumors that some people in the kingdom personally approached him with the offer.

I know some people in Saudi Arabia, they met with me, they want to pay $100 million to Khabib to fight Conor in Saudi Arabia. They want to pay Khabib $100 million to fight Floyd in Saudi Arabia, said Abdelaziz.

On Oct 6, 2018, Nurmagomedov crushed McGregor into submission in the round 4. The fight soon turned into a full fledged broil when Khabib jumped out of the octagon and attacked Conor’s coach Dillion Danis.

Khabib’s rejection of the Saudi offer comes at no surprise as the light weight champion is currently looking forward to fight a red hot contender_Tony Furguson in the UFC 249 on April 18.

I have a fight on April 18, I have a very serious fight. For the past month and a half, I’ve been consistently training day and night. I’ve gotten myself in good shape, to where I’m supposed to be 70 days before a fight. I feel great. What will happen after a fight no one knows, Khabib told RT sport.
