The sequel to the science fiction film “Avatar – Aufbruch Nach Pandora” has been in the works for several years. Even after the start of the first part, there was a firm plan that “Avatar 2” would come.
After many problems and delays with the production, 20th Century Studios finally released a first official picture a few weeks ago, showing Jake Sully’s (Sam Worthington) adopted human son Spider (Jack Champion).
Now we get to see eight new pictures from the blockbuster, which give us new impressions of the world. These include a concept drawing of the impressive (under)water worlds that are supposed to play an important role in “Avatar 2” and the images of a mysterious laboratory that most likely belongs to the military.
Avatar 2: What We Know So Far
Avatar 2 will focus on Jake Sully and Neytiri’s (Zoe Saldana) family. After the events of the first part, the two have started a family, which they now want to protect at all costs. They come into areas of Pandora that we don’t know yet.
The new pictures also give us a glimpse behind the scenes of the production and indicate how director James Cameron once again wants to set new standards in the film business. Because the filmmaker insisted on actually shooting all underwater scenes in giant tanks.
In addition, Cameron has already indicated that this time we won’t be traveling on the alien planet, but will also get to see the earth in all its diversity. It won’t just be a sequel. Cameron has a series of films planned that will continue the story of the Sully family. The Avatar will have four sequels in total, with parts of “Avatar 4” even having been turned off. Fans can look forward to new “Avatar” films for the next almost ten years. Avatar 2 will hit theaters on December 14, 2022.
